How fast is it, really?

At very busy moments — paydays, evenings — it can take a little longer, and the airtime still comes. If it ever does not, your M-Pesa code is the receipt that lets support trace and complete it.
Buying airtime for someone else
You do not need to be topping up your own line. Put the recipient's Safaricom number in the number field and pay as normal — the airtime goes to them, the M-Pesa confirmation comes to you. This is the usual way people send airtime to family upcountry, to a partner, or to a child at school.
